Auto Detail Cleaning: Maintaining Your Car

Auto Detail Cleaning: Maintaining Your Car

It’s winter time, one of the roughest times on your car. You are hoping that your car will hold up, you have spent hundreds of dollars on maintaining your car. Often times though plenty of people completely ignore a key aspect of maintaining your car, cleaning it. So maybe you can not afford car detail services at the moment, what do you do? Clean your vehicle yourself! I am going to write about five things you can do to keep your car looking squeaky clean.

Vacuuming: Seats, and carpets

One of the easiest, quickest and most effective ways to have your car looking in tip top shape is to vacuum your car. If you do not have your own car vacuum you could find a self service car wash nearby to perform the job. Vacuuming your car should not take more than half an hour or so. There is nothing like nice clean carpets and clean seats. Make sure you get inside all the cracks and crevices if you want to give your car a nice deep detail cleaning.

Dusting: Wiping down your interior.

Dusting is good for your car’s as well as your own health. Dusting your car well help you and your vehicle to breath. This job should not take more than five minutes. Stop by your local auto zone and pick up some armor all wipes to have your interior have that brand new shine.

Good Old Car Wash

When it gets warmer, grab a bucket of water and hose. If not take a drive down to a local car wash. Getting the job done should not take any more than $10. You want to pre rinse your car and then sponge it down with soap and water. I usually use Deep Crystal car wash. After that spray your car from top to bottom with the hose until you get all the soap and dirt off. Grab yourself an old clean rag, and wipe your car down until it is completely dry.

Engine Detailing

I would recommend getting this done at a self service car wash to get the proper pressure. Cleaning your engine is highly recommended. Over time your engine will pick up dust, dirt, grease and grime. These all make it hard for your car to breath. Your car has to work harder and the engine will heat up faster. If you don’t want to take your car to a self service you can spray your engine down the some La’s Totally Awesome or Mean Green. Let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse your engine off with your garden hose.

Car Wax by Hand

On very rare occasions it may be a good idea to wax your car. Just make sure you know what you are doing or you could ruin your vehicle’s paint.
